There is nothing wrong with you love. I know there is a lot of pressure around you to have someone ‘special’ on this day. Someone who calls you his, bae, Pookie or whatever else that lights your heart. Pull a chair babe, I totally relate! We all long to love and be loved right back and there is no shame in it. It is okay. It’s a good thing. Being single on this day can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be. I want to elevate my variety of single queens today!
We Just broke up!
While dating by the time we hit December, we are already thinking about February, the month of love and all of a sudden the relationship has so much pressure to work out! Is it just me? I mean, who wants to be single on Valentines Day? But, what happens when the relationship just doesn’t work out? Well, that’s a bummer, but it’s okay. I know you prefer and value a functional relationship more than a frivolous day. Your biggest goal is to be with someone that loves, values and celebrates you daily. It’s okay to let go of that ex and make room for your next! You’ll need to smile now. The love you think you lost is right within you. Valentines is your day to love you and make room.
2. Will, I ever have a Valentine?
This is for the girl that has been single for most of her life. The one who questions her background, body, looks, skin colour and whatever else. The one who feels like her standards of love and how she wants to be loved are too high. The one who doesn’t get asked out as much as her friends. You are amazing and there is nothing wrong with you. You are loveable just as you are now! As you work on yourself, know that in this moment, you are enough and you will have your story. Close your eyes after reading this, now think about all the love you desire, now take a deep breath and take in all that love and slowly breathe out the fear, doubt and anxiety. That love exists for you! You just took it in!
3. It’s Complicated and Hard!
Dating, love, relationships can be hard at times. It pushes us to grow and look within ourselves and question the things we thought we wanted. It can get quite uncomfortable! All this, to highlight that not everybody who is in a relationship is having a great Valentines day. It’s just the reality. Therefore, for the girl that is struggling in her relationship and weathering the storm, I tell you, it will not last forever. As long as both of you are committed to working on yourselves and on the relationship, then there is a bright light at the end of that tunnel. Don’t lose hope on love. I know you know what to do in that complicated situation. Listen to that voice within you that is committed to you and your goals. Whether you feel loved in that relationship or not, please know that you are so damn loveable and deserve to be loved and your love deserves to be honoured, not just today, but forever! That’s the energy!
