3 SECRETS TO START LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT.
I know! I know! I know! We could easily go with the narrative that is here with us that the economy is speedily dwindling and everything is just stone ass hard! No Jobs! Money is hard to come by! (a very long depressing narrative that we could talk about for hours). Yes, I rightfully believe that our leaders could do better and much more than what they are delivering. If at all they are! *side-eye. Excuse me, that’s not why I am here!
I am here because I will not allow us to give up on the life that we want and truthfully desire. I will not allow you to be drowned and defeated by life’s struggles. So help me, God! I will not sit here and allow you to NOT take RESPONSIBILITY for your life. I am not giving up on you!
In a recent post, I mentioned that we have to believe that the life we truly want and deeply desire can exist for us. But I realized that we cannot want what we are not clear on and that inspired this blog. How do we get a life that we haven’t thought about and clarified? How do you get served what you want if you haven’t thought about what you want and ordered for it?
HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO JUMPSTART YOUR 2020! Let’s Get it!:
1) Get Quiet.
Take a deep breath in and exhale it loudly. (From your tummy) Do this a few times and close your eyes and visualize your ideal life in the next 2,3, 5 to 10 years. Think about all the things you have always wanted and imagined yourself having. Trace the feeling that it gives you in your body. (Stop those limiting and self-deprecating thoughts that are interrupting) Now open your eyes, of course, when you are ready.
You saw what you saw because that life exists for you. Everything that we see on this planet was visualized! It all begins in our minds! We need to see it there first before we can see it in our physical world. Do not underestimate the power of your imagination!
2) Break down what you saw in comparison to where you are!
Our fundamental health and happiness are found within a balance. The balance is found within the different areas of our lives. These areas are our lives emotionally, physically, financially, psychologically, spiritually and relationally. What do we want from these areas of our lives?
Best believe that they affect the final output of us living the fulfilled life that we visualize for ourselves.
Questions to ask yourself :
Where am I emotionally?
Where am I spiritually?
Where am I with my relationship with my family, friends, colleagues and partner?
How is my health physically?
How are my finances?
And, finally how does what I saw and where I am at compare?
How do I get from zero to one in these areas of my life?
What small action steps can I take today and in the next few months to get me closer to my visualized life?
Write it down and make it happen!
3) Your Core Values either FIRE YOU UP or SABOTAGE YOU.
Your beliefs make you who you are! You live what you tell yourself my darling. Personally, I was living my life, making decisions and pursuing things in auto-pilot mode. My coach one day asked me, “Dorsila, what do you believe because the jobs you apply for, the people you date, what you eat,how you respond to issues and the opportunities you take or don’t take are all motivated by what you believe about life, yourself and the world in general.”
I ask you this, what do you believe about yourself?
What do you believe about life and the things that you want out of it?
What do you believe about your capabilities and strengths?
What motivates these beliefs?
Where did you get these beliefs?
THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION!
Are these beliefs valid and do they serve your visualized bigger picture of the life you want to create for yourself?
Are they true?
Our choices are based entirely on the things that we choose to believe.
I believe that the above is where we start. Here is where we begin the journey of living the life we truly want.
